    The Boston Tea Party was a turning point that inspired both parties to speak out. This meant that many more fights would also break out.     In the face of violence and bloodshed, many Loyalists made the decision to flee to a safer place, British North America. The war lasted for eight years, from 1775 to 1783.

    The Siege of Yorktown
    The event was a victory for the Patriots in the Revolutionary War and the beginning of peace negotiations between Britain and America. This was significant to the Loyalists because there was a high probability that America would gain independence after this. This meant that they would have be a part of the new society that the Patriots were building, which they were opposed to. Source:

    The Treaty of Paris 1783
    The signing of this treaty concluded the Revolutionary War and gave America its independence. Many Loyalists had gotten into trouble with Patriots during the revolution, and they were worried that they would have much protection living in America after their side had been defeated. This is why many Loyalists were further motivated to move to BNA. Source:
