    Twenty rings were forged

Long time ago (second era(S.E)), before Frodos adventure, twenty rings were forged. Three for the elves, seven for the dwarves and nine for the men. The last one was forged for Sauron in the fire of mount Doom in Mordor
  • 3441 BCE

The second era ends and the third begins

A battle between Saurons army and the rest of middle earth is raging out. At the end of the battle Sauron is defeated and the ring is taken by a man named Isildur. As Sauron dies it is marked as the end of the second era. The man Isildur tries to destroy the ring, but when he is inside mount Doom he becomes overwhelmed with greed and takes the ring for himself. Isildur is killed in a battle and the ring ends up in a river, where it is forgotten, and thus began the third era.
  • The finder of the ring

After 2461 years of peace and silence, the ring is found by a Hobbit named Degol. He was killed by Smeagol who clames it for his own. Smeagol flees into the mountains and the power of the ring keeps him alive for hundreds of years.
  • The ring, found once more

On a mission to kill the dragon Smaug, Bilbo Baggins finds Smeagol(Gollum) and takes the ring. Bilbo is a hobbit who lives in Hobbiton.
  • The ring is passed on

Bilbo Baggins is getting old. On his 111th birthday he uses the ring to vanish in front of the entire village. He goes home to prepare for retirement in the elven city Rivendell. Gandalf was at the party and realizes that Bilbo uses the ring. Gandalf makes Bilbo leave the ring at home for his nephew Frodo.
  • Frodo leaves Hobbiton

As Gandalf leaves, Frodo is sent to a town called Bree with three of his friends. Sam Wisely, Merry and Pippin. On their way, one of Saurons dead soldiers comes close to finding them, but they manage to run away.
  • Gandalf Vs Saruman

Gandalf thinks that the ring, Frodo is in possession of, is the one ring, so he tells Frodo to meet him in Bree later on. Gandalf rides to another wizard named Saruman. Saruman is working for Sauron and they start battling. It was easy for Saruman to win, and Gandalf was trapped on the top of Sarumans tower. Gandalf escapes on a huge eagle one month later.
  • The man in the inn

While Frodo and his friends were staying at the inn, one man was staring at them. This man is called Aragorn. Aragorn and the hobbits leave the town to get towards Rivendell where a meeting is taking place.
  • Attack on the hobbits

One evening on their way to Rivendell, the hobbits and Aragorn stopped on the ruins of the watchtower of Amon sul to make food. Saurons dead soldiers (Nazgûls) saw their bonfire and attacked the hobbits. Frodo tried to put on the ring to make him invisible, but the soldiers could see him. Frodo was stabbed, and fortunately Aragorn makes the soldiers flee by fighting them with fire. Frodo was badly wounded and needed magical treatment as soon as possible.
  • The elf princess to the rescue

The elf princess Arwen showes up to help Frodo and his friends. Since Arwen is the fastest rider, she carries Frodo on her horse towards Rivendell. On their way they are chased by the nazgüls, but Arwen uses her magic to flood a river and flush away the nazgûls.
  • The council of Elrond

When Frodo woke up, he was in Rivendell. Everyone else was there as well. The council gathered to discuss the ring. In the meeting there was the king of elves: Elrond, two dwarfs named Gimli and Glóin, an elf named Legolas, a human named Boromir, Gandalf and the hobbits.
  • The discussion

The council discussed what to do with the ring. The ring can not be destroyed by any weapon, only in the fires of mount Doom. They came to the conclusion that they should bring the ring to Mordor and destroy it there. Every member on the council volunteered to help, and then the fellowship of the ring was created.
  • Goodbye Rivendell

The fellowship leaves Rivendell late in December. Later in their journey, they decided to take a mountain path over the mountain Caradhras. Saruman predicted their plan and used magic to summon storm and bad wether. The fellowship then decided that the mountain path was too dangerous, then they chose to go through a dungeon instead.
  • The west gate of Moria

At the entrance of the gate, the fellowship is attacked by a creature that looked like a huge octopus. They defeated the beast and entered the gate. The cave was huge and belonged to Gimlis family. They realized that every dwarf in the cave had been killed by orks. They found Gimlis fathers(Balin) grave and Pippin made a loud noise. Lots of orks heard this noice and rushed towards the fellowship.
  • The fall of Gandalf

The fellowship was chased by lots of orks, but suddenly the orks fled. Gandalf knew what was coming; a Balrog of Morgoth. They run towards the Bridge of Khazad-dûm. Gandalf faced the balrog on the bridge. The battle ended with the bridge broken and Gandalf and the balrog falling. Frodo shouted out in grief.
  • The mirror of Galadriel

The journey continued, and they meet an elf-witch (Galadriel), who sent them on their way with gifts like daggers and the star of Elendil. Frodo was invited by Galadriel to look in a mirror. The mirror showed a horrible future that would happen if Frodo failed.
  • Attack on the fellowship

Boromir got tempted and tried to take the ring from Frodo. They ended up brawling and Frodo escaped using the ring. Boromir then understood what he had done and cried out for forgiveness. Then, many orks attacked the fellowship. They fought with all they had, but in the end, Boromir died.
  • Breaking of the fellowship

Frodo decided to leave the fellowship on his own because the ring was to much of a temptation for the others. Sam chose to go with him.
Merry and Pippin were captured by the uruk-hai, and the rest of the fellowship was going after Merry and Pippin to save them.
