Katniss has been living in the victors village with Peeta and Haymitch. Peeta and her are ready to go on their victory tour around the different districts. President Snow visits Katniss at her house and he tells her that he knows about how her and Peeta were just faking their relationship to stay alive. he also says that on the victory tour they must convince more people that they are in love or Katniss' friends and family will ge hurt.

Katniss and Peeta go on the victory tour after being prepped by the prep team. They go to district 11 where Rue's family lives. They both give a speech and Katniss makes sure to tell Rue's family how much she meant to her. As the speeches were ending, Katniss heard a gun shot and looked back to find a man lying on the ground in a pile of blood.

Peeta and Katniss finish up going to all the districts for the victory tour. The last night of the victory tour they have a big feast at the capitol. There are many different types of foods that Katniss wants o try but she is alead full. Her prep team tells her to take this special drink that will make her throw up so she can eat as much as she wants to. Katniss also dances with a strange man who she has questions about.

On the tour Katniss makes a conclusion that she didn't convice enough people that her and Peeta's relationship was real. She talks to Gale and says that they should run away. Gale doesn't agree with that idea though.

As Gale is coming out of the forest, a new patrol man sees him. The new patrol man takes Gale to the town square where he starts to whip him. Katniss and Peeta step in to save him, and Katniss gets whipped across the face while trying to do so. Katniss takes Gale to her mother where her mom will heal his wounds.Katniss starts to grow closer to Gale.

Katniss is set out to find what the mockingjay pin means. Katniss meets two people named Bonnie and Twill who have escaped from District 8. They tell her that the night Peeta proposed to Katniss, the offical uprising began in District 8.

Katniss sneaks out into the woods but finds out that the fence is now fully charged with electricity. She jumps down off a tree hurting her tailbone and heel. She goes home to find two peacekeepers telling her that the fence will now be charged 24/7 and that the new peacekeeper knew she was in the woods. Katniss has broken her heel and her mom is making her rest until it is healed. Katniss later has a wedding photo shoot later the next week.

Katniss and Peeta are re-entered into the Hunger Games because of the Quarter Quell. There is a different procedure this year. Katniss and Peeta couldn't talk to anybody before they left for the capitol. They reach the capitol after the long train ride. The quater quell is full of the pool of victors from each district.

Katniss and Peeta ride into the opening ceremony of the 75th Hunger Games wearing all black. They look stunning. They complete their personal practice with the Gamemakers to show them what they are capable of in the arena. Katniss and Peeta both get a 12 which has never been done before. Mags runs into the acid steam and dies so that Finnick, Katniss, and Peeta can run away and survive.

The Games begin. There have been 14 deaths on the first day. Katniss and Peeta team up with Finnick and Mags to survive. Peeta runs into a force field that knocks him out. Finnick puts air back into his lungs so he can survive. They recieve a tool that can get water from trees from a sponsor. Later that night a steam comes rolling in and it is full of acid. Haymitch tell Katniss that there has been an uprising aainst the capitol and that the head Gamemaker was part of it. She also find out that her family and Gale are safe, but the capitol has Peeta. It is now up to her to lead the revolt against the capitol.

A group of wild monkies attack the three of them. Many other tributes have died now. There are only eight left. Katniss and Peeta's plan is to abandon the team with Finnick. But before they do this, they try to help them out by killing two more tributes. A metal wire that gets struck by lightning is shot up into the force field in the sky by Katniss.
