Even though he grew up in Missouri and was never near water, he decided to join the navy because he loved to travel. He was a 2nd class seamen on the USS New Hampshire.He did things such as clean the deck and target practice. -

A message sent from Germany to Mexico. The message was in code. The message talked about Mexico siding with Germany. If Mexico sided with Germany, they could attack the U.S more easily. -

Germans signed a peace treaty with Russian government. The treaty gave Germany large plots of land from Ukraine and Poland. This peace between Germany and Russia caused Germany to focus on the west. The treaty caused many problems for France, Britain, and America. -

America and Germany battled against one another. The battle took place in a wheat field. The battle was a German victory. The battle also had many casualties. -
Kaiser Willhem's Abdication
Kaiser Willhem was the leader of Germany during WWI. He abdicated on November 9, 1918. To abdicate is to give up you position as a leader. This caused World War I to come to an end. -
Lloyd was discharged
Sometime in 1919 Lloyd brown was discharged. Being discharged means he was told he could leave. After this he moved to Washington with his first wife. He had two kids. -
2nd Class Musician
Lloyd was reenlisted in 1921. Lloyd played the cello and was a passionate musician. He played on and off board. He was close with all of his band mates and enjoyed playing music. -
Lloyd's service is officially over
In 1925 Lloyd was discharged again. He continued to live life with his wife and kids. He was the last known WWI navy veteran when he died. He died March 29, 2007.
