    He went in 1918 at 16 years only, he lied and said that he was eighteen. And served in World War for five and a half years, when he was asked why he joined the military he said “It was a matter of patriotism. Most all of the young men were enlisting, ad I just went along with the crowd.” He joined the Navy because he liked traveling and going on ships and going to different countries.

    This was between Russian and German soldiers, the German was larger and had more power. By the end of the month the German took about 92,000 prisoners and they destroyed half of th Russian second army. At the end the Russians had lost about 250,000 men and a lot of military equipment.

    Began in 1914 to 1918, it had began after the assassination of Archduke Ferdinand, Germany, Austria- Hungary and the Ottoman Empire against Great Britain, The U.S., France, Russia, Italy, and Japan. All of the new technology that the military used led to a lot of destruction, and more than nine million soldiers- “two out of three soldiers died in battle”, and about 37 million people were killed. And when the war was over the allied powers “claimed victory”.

    There were many battles over the time in WWI, The First Battle Of the Marne was fought in September 1914 the battle that helped the most in end WWI was The Battle of Amiens, after the second Battle of the Marne.The first day was very successful there were over 75,000 men we took 8 miles. On the very first day of this battle there were half as much casualties. “The fighting was over after a few days, this convinced people that in German high command that victory in the war was unattainable”.

    This was three years of fighting in the "Isonzo Valley, it went to heels of Italy's entry to WWI". Italy entered WWI against Austria - Hungary on May 23 1915. "1919 French army mutinies and Russia's collapse demanded Allied diversionary measures". The battles "illustrated well-prepared positions could not be taken conventional frontal assaults".

    The British Army launched an major attack against the German. This was the last attempt to drive the German from France before the winter in 1915.     This was the biggest naval battle of WWI, America had 250 ships and about 100,000 soldiers, the British lost 14 ships and about 6,00 men, the German lost 11 ships and over 2,500 men, they did not get complete destruction and they never challenged British control of the North sea.

    this was between The British and the French against the Germans. On the first day 19,240 soldiers were killed, this was the bloodiest day of the battle of the “British history”. “The British on the battle of the Somme” because they had used untrained people that volunteered as soldiers.

    More than 4.7 million American soldiers fought in WWI. Before the joined the U.S. wanted to stay neutral, but they decided to join with the allies. The allies are Britain, Russia, Italy. They were against Germany, Austria -Hungary, Ottman Empire, and Bulgaria.

    also known as “Passchendaele”,this was one of the bloodiest battles that was fought in the Western Front, “this was an allied victory and it helped bring an end to WWI”. This was seen as the “harvest fighting” until the third month. The allied almost reached exhaustion and only had a few notable gains.

    This battle was between The British and Germans, this was the first battle that tanks were used in, “mass scale battle”. They also used air power and heavy artillery. British had 476 tanks, 324 were fighting tanks, and all the others were supply and service vehicles. There was an attack launched on“amimed to Germans towards Cambri in November 20.

    He was on the “New Hampshire”, there was a wooden deck that they would sleep on with hammocks, that was attached to the roof, in the mornings they would move them out of the way. And when they would wake you they had to take the tables out from the roof so that they could eat, and when they were done they would put them back inside the roof. They also did other activities on the wooden deck.

    he was sent to Great Lakes Training Station, this was in Illinois. He said that he had already knew how to swim before he joined the Navy. They taught him how to row boats ad to splice big ropes together, so that they can tie it ships to the docks. “But know they have steel cables and lots of electric motors instead of manpower.”
  • The USS Seattle

    He was sent on board the seattle- a flag ship, they sent him as a musician, The ship went around different places. The two longest trips was “ New Zealand and Australia. He played for officer Organizations. They did not play a concert for the public”.

    he protected the White House, one time he had saved a man from the fire. “ the man came down from the second floor but the smoke was to strong and he grabbed them and took them outside”. This got a lot of attention, they put pictures in a news article,
