    I began kindergarten, we would read with partners, with both our knees and elbows touching. We practice sitting together and reading quietly.

    In first grade we began reading chapter books. My favorite chapter books were the Junie B. Jones ones. I remember wanting to get the Stupid Smelly Bus book form the book fair, but being too afraid to ask because of the word "stupid" in the title.

    My sister who’s 2 years younger than me, would sit me and my two cousins down and we would play teacher. She would give us extra worksheets she would get from school, and she would read to us. Occasionally, she would let me be the assistant teacher.
