This was a major event when all African Americans were treated wrongly and they were used as slaves and they were not free to be themselves. -

There was a bully who always was mean to kenny because of his race and Byron beat the kid up. -
Cars
Cars were common around this time because they were recovering from bad events so they needed to get food and other needed supplies. -
The brown bomber
Around this time cars were used but they were like the brown bomber not like jeeps. In the book it was 1963 so they were slowly evolving. -
Kenny and rufus
Kenny and Rufus were treated wrongly for there race and also there clothing. then Byron stand up and beats up there bully. -
The Alabama integration
This was the time when African American students were treated poorly and some schools would not allow African American students. -
the trip to Birmingham
They went to Alabama and they mentioned how they were going to a part where there were no bad people and bad events. -
the bombing of Sixteenth Street Baptist Church in Birmingham, Alabama.
This was a major event that happened in 1963 there were bad people that did not care what happened and 2 little girls ended up hurt. -
The call
On the phone with grandma sands they mention the president change and how that affected things for them. -
The assassination of John F. Kennedy.
The president was assassinated and then there was a new president and that changed things. This also effected race because of beliefs.
