Abraham Lincoln´s Assassination
Confederate sympathizer and famous actor John Wilkes Booth assassinated President Lincoln 5 days after the surrender of the south. Lincoln was attending theater play at ford´s theater when booth slipped into his box and fired a gun, shooting him in the head. Lincoln died at 7:22 a.m. on April 15, 1865, at 56.

The news of the presidents death traveled quickly through the north. The north mourned for the loss of their beloved President. On the day of his funeral 10 thousand people lined the railroad route the pay their respects to their former loved president. -

John Wilkes Booths Arrest
Authorities put out a $100,000 reward out for anyone who knows anything about John Wilkes Booth´s whereabouts. Booth was found hiding in a barn in Virginia, while there he was being treated for an injury to his leg. Union troops found him and shoot him, he was capture and later hung for his crimes.
