Sacagawea was born in 1788, in Lemhi County, Idaho. She was the daughter of a Shoshone Chief. She would later be reunited with her brother when she traveled with the Corps of Discovery.

Sacagawea was captured by Hidasta Indians. This tribe was a sworn enemy of the Shoshone Indians. She was sold to French-Canadian fur trader. His name was Toussaint Charbonneau, and he would force Sacagawea to become his wife.

Sacagawea joined the Corps of Discovery. She was six months pregnant at the time. Lewis and Clark had originally hired Charbonneau, Sacagawea's husband, as a translator, but Sacagawea would end up being a larger help to the Corps Of Discovery.

Sacagawea gives birth to a baby boy. He was nicknamed Baby Pomp by the other explorers on the expedition. Baby pomp's real name was Jean-Baptiste Charbonneau.

Up until now, Sacagawea's use to the Corps of Discovery was ignored. It wasn't until there was a flash flood and she was the only one to remain calm while saving her baby. She also saved valuable resources and some notebooks containing important information. However, the same cannot be said for her husband Charbonneau, as he freaked out and dropped everything on him and ran.

In 1806, Sacagawea and her husband Charbonneau return from the expedition. They returened to thier starting point at the Hidasta-Mandan Settlement. Charbonneau recieved 320 acres of land and 500 dollars for his service. Sacagawea recieved no compensation.

Charbonneau did not adjust to tending to the framland he recieved, so he sold it to Clark. He and Sacagawea moved to Ford Manuel Lisa. They left baby Pomp with Clark, who would later enroll him in a boarding school.

Sacagawea and her husband Charbonneau join a fur trading expedition with William Clark. At the time Clark had just been declared Baby Pomp's godfather.

Sacagawea gaives birth to a daughter, which she names Lisette. It is not known whether Lisette survived infancy. Sacagawea died later that year of a life-long unknown disease.
