Australopithecus aferensis existed 4 million years ago and their remains have been consistently found along East Africa's Northern Rift Valley. There was even a nearly complete skeleton of an adult female that was discovered which the named 'Lucy'. -

Homo sapien neanderthalensis existed about 500,000 years ago and they were presented during the end of the ice age, their height rose up to abput 5'5" , their condensed shape helped them keep warm and they had large brains./ -
Homo sapien sapiens
Homo s.s. existed from not long ago and up until today and are the most advanced homonid species and they have rounder brains and have larger molars to help them chew their food more easily and they created weapons that are really similar to things that we use today.
