Great Britain conducted a naval blockade. It would prevent any supplies coming to and from Germany. Germany found it very hard to get food since now they can't import and food and they can't grow any food since the war was taking place on German land.

Zeppelin's started dropping bombs on Great Britain. Dropped them on the seaside of Great Yarmouth and King's Lynn. This birthed the start of modern air warfare

German U-boats torpedoed a British ship and sunk it. The sinking of the Lusitania killed 128 Americans and was one of the backbones of why America joined the war.

Another British ship is sank by German U-boats. Germany started angering Britain since they kept sinking their boats with no warning.

Germany would agree to stop sinking ships with their U-boats as long as Britain agrees to uphold the naval blockade. This would allow Germany to be able to have food imported into the country now.

Germany starts up unrestricted submarine warfare again, therefore breaking the Sussex Pledge. Germany thought they would be able to defeat Britain with the U-boats before America would be able to join in and assist Britain.

Britain intercepts and decodes a secret message sent from Germany intended to Mexico. The message is an alliance proposal to Mexico saying that if Mexico will attack America and distract them while Germany fights in Europe, Germany will give them troops, money, and help the take back territories. Mexico declines.

Congress finally declares war onto the Central Powers. Many reasons for why but mostly because of the Lusitania and the Zimmermann Note

British marks the first large-scale use of tanks in combat. Surprised Germany and attacked, tanks ripped through German defenses and Britain ended up taking 7,500 prisoners with little to no casualties

While Roy Avery was on a boat sailing to England so he could aid in the war, two German U-boats ended up attacking his ship. The ship fired back and sank one of the enemies ships.

Roy finally arrived in England and was in a refreshment camp. The camp got air raided and he had to take shelter in a train to protect himself from falling shell fragments

The army commanders told Roy and the troops that they had to postpone writing anything down such as letters or journals. This way they could prevent information getting leaked out if they were to be captured

While Roy was heading to town for the armistice, he got air raided again. He had to take shelter in the cellar of a house. The cows the old lady owned ended up getting hurt and the raid killed 4 French infantry troops.

The allies and Germany finally conducted an armistice. Germany was under heavy revolutions about the war and lost grip on their industry centers and the allies were going to flank Germany so the thoughts of Germany continuing the war were very doubtful.

The hospital Roy was aiding at started evacuating the patients. Roy's name was on the base list but was declined to go. A few days later he had to go across no man's land and had to go through what he thought was enemy territory three or four days ago
