    Informtion Site The First stone of the parliament building being laid was a big event. The first stone laid was a white marble corner stone of the famous "Peace Tower" which was laid by King Edward VII. Not only was the stone laid but there also was a sealed copper time capsule that was placed right under the corner stone.

As a child Henry loved to experiment with machines and during his lifetime he has also invented a lot more things such as the very first sofa bed.

The Dominion of Canada act was given approval by Queen Victoria in March of 1867.

Overall his Politian career was very successful.

    More InformationIn 1880 Emily Stowe who fought for her right finally got a license to practice medicine in Toronto. She was denied entrance in 1865 to the Toronto School of Medicine and was told by the principle the doors of the University are not open to women and I trust they never will be. She got her degree from the us and came back to Canada and had one last course to do which they granted the license to practice.
