Marcus Ewert publishes the book "10,000 Dresses" the first known children's book to tell of a clearly transgender child character. -

Annette Bening and Julianne Moore star in the first major motion picture in America that focussed in on LGBT couples and their children (The first non-documentary film to discuss these issues). -
President Obama changes Hospital Visitaion rules
President Obama revised hospital Visitaion laws to make it so that patients may designate their own visitors, this is of course inclusive to same sex partners or spouces. -
Updated Passports
The U.S. state department updated their passport application to say "mother or parent 1" and "father or parent 2" as opposed to the previous "mother" and "father" only.
