While traveling over the praries by the yellostone river, the corps was chased by a bear, whom they later described as impossible to kill. -

corps visits the sashone tribe and asks sacagawea to come with them and be their interpiter. -

the corps makes hand carts out of cotton wood trees. -

After being in the bitteroot mountians for 53 days, the starving men emmerge and are befriended by a nez perce woman. -

The corps camps with 8 blackfeet indians. in the morning they catch the warriors trying to staeal their guns and horses. a fight started and 2 blackfeet were killed.
