Christmas and visit at Fort Mandan
It is noted that the temperature is 45 below colder than the men had been before. They decide to stay at the Fort Mandan with the Mandan Tribe for the winter due to these conditions. -

While still at For Mandan, Sacagawea has her new born son named Jean Baptiste. -
Bear incidinces
Near the Yellowstone River, the party realizes that the Indians do not exaggerate the "Power of the bears." -
Shoshone Tribe Encounter
Shoshone people approached by Lewis and Clark along with some of their men and offered gifts to the Tribe. Sacagawea sees her brother and joins the expedition as a translator. -
Christmas at Fort Clatsop
Celebrating Christmas nearly a continent away from home, the group is given handkerchiefs and tobacco as gifts. These are the last of the rations. -
Casualty among the Blackfeet Tribe
After camping with the Blackfeet Warriors, there is a gunfight when ttwo of the Warriors try to steal horses and guns. The two Warriors were killed, and Lewis left a metal hoping for peace. -
Present Day Idaho Clearwater River
You can visit the Clearwater River where Lewis and Clark built canoes to travel down the river.
