Coffin's Conversion to Abolitionism
An incident that occurred when Coffin was a boy left a lasting impression on him and resulted in Coffin becoming an abolitionist at a young age. When Coffin was about seven years old he saw first-hand the plight of men who were kidnapped from the north and taken to be sold into slavery. Events in peoples' childhoods leave lasting impressions like Coffin's experience shows. When I was a child a special teacher inspired me to become a teacher.
