French and Indian war
A war which provided Great Britain with territorial gains towards North America but later paying many war expenses and leading to colonial discontents and leading to the American revolution. -
Sugar Act
The sugar act was the beginnings to the taxes, they from 6 cents to 3 cents per gallon, this is a cut but they decided to start enforcing it by stamping out smuggling.This was passed by the parliament of Great Britain. The American colonist obviously didn’t like this as the was more revenue towards the Britain’s and it was the beginnings towards the taxation. -
Stamp Act
Required taxes on papers by the British which costed money, these actions lead the Americans to perform acts of protest like boycotting these acts were one of the first protesting acts which then also worked out. This mainly angered and affected the newspaper handlers and lawyers as they used papers the most. -
The Declaratory Act
This was an act of parliament passed again by the Great Britain which accompanied the repeal of the Stamp Act. This angered the colonist making them pay more taxes and causing them to do another boycott nuance this led to more anger towards Colonies as Philadelphia and New York peoples products were being boycotted. -
Townshend Act
These were a series of measures passed by the British parliament in 1767 which taxed goods imported to the American colonies. These hopeful plans by the British once again angered the colonist causing deadly protests again. -
Tea Act
The tea act of 1773 was another act by parliament of Greta Britain to try and benefit themselves again. The American colonist were being controlled on the purchases of tea and this made them feel like they Britain doesn’t have the right to do this. The colonists got angry and dumped 342 crates into the ocean. -
Start of Revolutionary War
The colonial response to all of these acts being added on the American Colonists was the starts to the American Revolution, Massachusetts past a set of resolution calling for colonist to disobey the intolerable act, to stop paying taxes, and to prepare for war.
