Sugar Act
Britan taxes sugar and molasses to earn revenue.
The colonists became angry. -
Stamp Act
Britan says that legal and commercial documents had to carry an official stamp. The stamps were taxed.
9 colonists sent delegates, they sent a petition to king George, and the declared that the king had no right to tax the colonists. -
Quartering Act
Required colonists to house all British Soldiers. -
Stamp Act Congress
A meeting was held in NYC consisting of representitives from some of the colonies. -
Stamp Act Repeal
After months of protest, and an appeal by Benjamin Franklin before the British House of Commons, Parliament voted to repeal the Stamp Act -
Declatory Acts
Declares that the Parliment had supreme authority to govern the colonists
The colonies and British had a great argument. -
Townshed Acts
Taxed glass, papr, paint,lead, and tea to earn revenue.
Protested "Writs of Assistence" (search warrent) and the colonists boycotted and formed the "Daughters of Liberty" -

Incident in 1770.
British fired at inicent colonists. -
Tea Act
British forced the colonists to buy British tea. The British wanted to earn more money.
Colonists formed the organization "Committes of COrrespondence". -
Boston tea Party
Incident in 1773.
Colonists protested British polocies by throwing tea off of British ships. -
Intolerable Acts
Closed part of Boston port until colonists paid for the destroyed tea.
Altered the massachusets charter to ban town meetings.
Replaced the elected counsil with appointed one.
Increased the governer's power over the colonists. -
First Contiential Congress
Boycott English goods.
Agree to meet again in 9 months (nect summer)
Ban all British trade until Intolerable Acts are over.
Called on each colony to be in military troops. -
Battle of Lexington and Concord
Battle that started the Revolutionary war.

Signing of Decloration of Independence/Reflection paragraph
The colonists declared their independence. The colonists decided to declare their independence because they disliked the king's acts. They did not like the acts and proclamations because they had no representation. The parliment made the taxes and took away their rights. This is why the colonies decided to declare their independence.
