  • French and Indian War

    French and Indian War
    The French and Indian war started out by the North American conflict in a larger imperial war between Great Britain and France known as the seven years war. The French and Indian war began in 1754 and ended with the Treaty of Paris in 1763. The war provided Great Britain with enormus terrtorail gains in North America, but disputes over frontier policy and paying the wars exspences led to colonial dicontent, and ultimatley to the American Reveloution.
  • Treaty of Paris

    Treaty of Paris
    On September 3, 1763 the Treaty of Paris was signed bringing the reveloutionary war to a conclusion.After the signing of the treaty of paris, John Adams infomred congress in a letter dated September 5, 1783 that "on Wednesday the 3rd day of this month, the ministers met the british ministers at his lodgings at the Hotel De York, and signed, sealed, and delivered the definite Treaty of Peace between Great Britain and the nations.
  • Stamp Act

    Stamp Act
    The Stamp Act was passed by the british parliment on March 22, 1765. The new tax was imposed on all americans colonist and required them to pay tax on every piece of printed paper they used. Ships papers, legal documents, licenes, newspaper, and other publications and even playing cards were taxed. The actual cost of stamp act was relatively small. What made the law so offensive to the colonists was not so much its immediate cost but the standared seemed to set.

    The Townshend Acts was a series of acts passed, begginging in 1767, by the Parliment of Great Britian realating to the British colonies in North America. The acts are named after Charles Townshend, the Chancellor of the Echquer, who proposed to the program.
  • Boston Massacre

    Boston Massacre
    The Boston Massacre was a street fight that occured on March 5, 1770 between a "patriot" mob, throwing snowballs, stones, and sticks, and a squad of Britsh soldiers. Several colonists were killed and this led to campaign by speech-writers to rouse the ire of the citizenry.

Its principal objective was to reduce the massive surplus of tea held by the financially troubled British East India Company in its London warehouses and to help the struggling company survive. A related objective was to undercut the price of illegal tea, smuggled into Britain's North American colonies
