The Proclamation of 1763
The British Government was keeping the land they won over from the French as Indian territory. This prohibited the Colonists from being able to settle all of this land even after the fight they put up for it. -
The Currency Act
This was a very impactful act that restricted the colonies from printing their currency, paper money. -
The Stamp Act
British Parliament passed the law to apply taxes to every piece of paper or paper item that the colonists bought and used. Colonists became angry not only because they had to pay, but because they had no representation. -
The Townshend Act
This act added taxes to even more objects, enraging the colonists with the fact that they now had to pay taxes on glass, still with no representation. -
Boston Massacre
This violent mash led to the death of five colonists, which fueled the fire leading to the American Revolution even more. The massacre was an event that we still don't even know what truly happened. Was it the British Soldiers or the Colonists who started it? -
The Tea Act
The tea act did not add any new taxes onto tea, but it did give the British East India Company a monopoly on the sales they made in the colonies. This way the colonies were being profited off of. -
The Intolerable Acts
The British refer to these at the Coercive acts, they were made to get back at the massachusetts colonists for the Tea Party. Only shipments with military supplies were issued until the money for all the wasted tea was returned.
