Fundraiser for Hurricane Harvey
We organized a bake sale and all the profits made went to the reconstruction of Texas. This project we believed was the most challenging assignment in our class. This is because we had to organize a bake sale which is very time consuming, takes a lot of hard work, and had to find a place to donate our profits to a trustworthy organization. We overcome these challenges by collaborating with our fellow classmates, being efficient with our time, and researching potential organizations. -
Leadership T-shirt
Both leadership classes worked together to try and create Del Mar spirited T-shirts that unfortunately did not work and we did not create -
Amy Slater Presentation
Amy Slater talked about leadership values and how we can improve our abilities to work together. -
Challenge day Assembly
Both leadership classes went into the gym for an 8th grade assembly and activity to help people re-live the challenge day feeling of togetherness -
Smart Goals
A SMART goal is an achievable goal that also challenges your self at the same time. Tyler and I learned the most form this project because you had to choose a goal that was difficult and challenging yet it was achievable for us to accomplish. By choosing a goal that is difficult it pushes you to do your best and try and get this goal completed so you can feel the greatness of completing it. -

We split into groups and worked together to create videos of how to do something so we could use them for future reference. -
Lollipop Moments (8th Grade)

Event presentation
We had to chose a popular event around our country and provide statistics, facts, how/when/where it started, and how it could make our dance better. Our group's event was the NBA all star weekend. -

Interview a Leader
We chose someone who we thought was a role model and sent them an email or tried to gain contact with them. If we got in touch we would organize an interview and ask them questions about their leadership values. -
Del Mar Dance
Our leadership class held a school wide dance. We had a DJ where we could dance and have fun, and we also had a raffle where people could buy tickets and possibly win some cool prizes from places like Vineyard Vines, Soul Cycle and World Wrapps. -
Teacher Appreciation Week
The leadership classes put on a special week for all the teachers at Del Mar. We wrote acrostic poems, set up breakfast for them, and gave them succulents. -
SBAC Party
Students who took their time on SBAC and tried to the best of their abilities were rewarded with a special treat (Ice cream sandwich) and extra lunch during advisory time. -
Del Mar Improvement Project
We chose something that we though could be improved here at Del Mar. We then presented it in front of Mr. Sawyer and Mr. Lynch hoping we could move forward and solve the issue we chose. Caden and I thought this project was by far our favorite assignment in the leadership class. Knowing we could potentially improve out our school was a great feeling while also having fun researching to get new jerseys.
