  • Natives Abolition of Passes and Co-ordination of Documents Act

Natives Abolition of Passes and Co-ordination of Documents Act
Required natives to carry a 90-something page book around with all their documents and permits in order. The length of the name itself shows its ridiculousness.

    Reservation of Separate Amenities Act

Forced all blacks out of the "townships" they had built up outside the cities for easier commute to work. Cleansed the "black spots" of the cities.

Supposedly nacted to prevent "coloured" land from being taken withour compensation to its owner, but was really a way to further induce "Coloured Areas" in apartheid legislation.
  • Bantu Homelands Citizenship Act

    Bantu Homelands Citizenship Act
Made black people citizens of one bantustan with the intention that once the bantustan gained independence its residents would no longer be South African citizens.
