Atomic Model Timeline

  • 450 BCE

    Aristotle

only really said was there is elements, which is implied in Aristotle’s theory. (This did imply to the atomic theory)
  • 380 BCE

    Democritus

Discovered the first atom theory and that it can never be deleted but moved and changed.
  • 347 BCE

    Plato

Cosmetology discovered that there are only five solid shapes whose sides are made from regular polygons, such as triangles, squares, pentagons, etc.
  • Robert Boyle

Was a chemist who discovered the law of gases who discovered volume of a gas decreases with increasing pressure.
  • Lavoisier

was a French discovery helped make the small portion of the periodic table and the metric system, the small portion being Carbon, Oxygen, Silicon, and Nitrogen. Which helped prove why Oxygen as well as other chemicals show a reaction when put together.
  • The Alchemists

They discovered that they had refined not just mercury but also their core ideas about matter
  • John Dalton

    John Dalton
not only identified red and green color blindness but also revealed Daltons law of partial pressures. The first scientist to explain the behavior of atoms measurement and weight.
  • Dmitri Mendeleev

Was a Russian chemist who helped create the periodic tables order and classification scale more known as periodic law.
  • J.J. Thomson

    J.J. Thomson
was a Physics who discovered the first subatomic particle known as the electron. He had discovered a corpuscle soon to be called an electron despite the Thomson's stubborn preference for his original term, borrowed from Robert Boyle.
  • The Curies

Discovered the existence of polonium in their research of pitchblende. (Radioactive elements)
  • Albert Einstein

Discovered the law of photoelectric effect, which went to be the base quantum physics.
  • Robert Millikan

Was a physicist who discovered the charge of the electron by doing the oil drop experiment.
  • Ernest Rutherford

postulated the nuclear structure of an atom and in his findings, he discovered alpha and beta rays, proposing the laws of radioactive decay.
  • Neils Bohr

    Neils Bohr
Made a model of an atom and which the electron was able to occupy only certain orbits around the nucleus. Was he first to use the quantum theory in that electrons are limited to certain orbits around the nucleus. Along with that he purposed the Solar system model a modified version of Rutherfords model.
  • Henry G. J. Mosely

Was a physicist who discovered the major properties of an element are determined by atomic number.
  • Werner Heisenberg

    Werner Heisenberg
Was a physicist and a philosopher a way to formulate quantum mechanics in terms of matrices. The model is a way to help visualize the most probable position of electrons in an atom.
