President Ronald Reagan did not want any more illegal immigrants coming to the united states so he formed a law that would restrict immigrants from easily crossing the border. It is also illegal to hire illegal immigrants that you know are illegal. The law also legalized up to 3 million undocumented immigrants before 1982.

President Barack Obama wanted to do something about the deportation of illegal immigrants so he had helped up to 5 million people stay and provided them with work permits. Even though President Barack Obama Had let illegal immigrants stay, most people were scared that this would leas to more illegal immigrants. Its also good that american born Mexican citizens get to stay because it would be hard for them to be deported back to where their parents came from especially if they dont know anything.
