    Born on October 25, 1944 Crystal city, TX. Gutierrez went to three colleges only to be denied a teaching job the he was far overqualified for. He then started a civil rights movement for mexican Americans in Texas and eventually became the judge of the district that had previously denied him a teaching job.

    An accomplishment of the Lation rights movement was that the latino race is not giving up and their population is only growing. They stuck up for what they thought was right, and they were not getting treated fairly

    One goal is Immigration and education reforms are of key importance to the community.
    One problem the unimportance of immigrants in american society was hundreds of thousands of Latino immigrants and others participate in the Day Without Immigrants, boycotting work, school and shopping, to symbolize the important contributions immigrants make to the American economy.

    His executive order determined that the undocumented youth would not be deported from the United States. These youth recieved special permission to stay in the country.
