    Since I was in my mother womb I was receiving informal language acquisition.

    Usually my parents spoke in Spanish but every now and then they spoke to me in English.
  • My First Experience at School

    My First Experience at School
    I started school in Pre-K at Las Marias. I took English for the first time and this was my formal language acquisition.
  • Elementary School

    Elementary School
    By this time I already had listening, reading, speaking and writing skills. At this phase of my life I was in a type 3: Mixed Language because my parents spoke both languages and we codeswitch.
  • Middle and High School

    Middle and High School
    Since I liked the English language, I watched, read, and write in English. In this phase of my life I was concious that I codeswitch a lot between English and Spanish. Sometimes I couldn't find the correct word in Spanish or I just didn't know the word.
  • University

    University
    At this point English went from passive to productive because I started taking most of the classes in English to became an English teacher. I spoke more English than Spanish.
  • Job Experience

    Job Experience
    I started working as an English teacher at the Department of Education.
  • Bilingual Certification

    Bilingual Certification
    I started courses at the University of Sagrado Corazon to obtain a Bilingual Certification.
