Sopwith 1.5ft Strutter.
This aircraft was the first ever British built aircraft to enter war with a synchronised machine gun. It was designed at The Sopwith Aviation company in Kingston as well as being built there. This was the first, main fighting plane built and was the building blocks for many planess to come. It was built in 1916 and named after its 1.5 foot wing height difference. -

The Sopwith Camel was invented in Kingston in the Sopwith Factory. The original design was created by Thomas Sopwith. -
Hawker Hurricane
The hawker hurricane was the plane which was mainly used in the Second wold war. It was built and designed in Kingston and over 14,500 were built including other factories around Britain. It was first built in 1939. -

Hawker P.1127
The Hawker P.1127 was the first British aircraft that could take-off vertically. It was the protoype to the famous Harrier.
This aircraft was also a jet aircraft which meant it did not have a propellor. -
Hawker Siddeley Harrier
This was the advanced model of the Hawker P.1127. It was also the plane that won the race between London and New York in 1969. It was the first VTOL plane. It was first built in 1966 -
Hawker Siddeley Hawk
This was the last All-British aircraft built at the Sopwith Company. It is the last all British aircraft to go into service with the RAF. It is still used by the RAF in service today. It was first built in 1971. -
Hawker Siddeley Harrier AV8A
This was the advanced model of the Hawker Siddeley Harrier. It was sold the US Military. It has vertical lift off and is still used today. It was first built in 1972.
