North Korea Invades South Korea
With the aproval and support of Russian leader Stalin and China's dictator Mao, North Korean forces cross the 38th parallel and invade South Korea. Soviet weapons and later Chinese troops would help the North throghout the war. -

North Korean forces secure Seoul from the South Korean government. -
Counter-offensive
The US and UN launched a counter-offensive amphibious landing at I Inchon and continued to push North Korean forces al the way back to the Chinese border at the Yalu River. -

China enters war
On November 26th, 1950 China launches an attack on the United Statess' and United Nation's forces and pushed the allies back to the 38th parallel. -

Chinese and North Korean forces recapture Seoul from the South Koreans. -

The fourth battle for Seoul liberates it yet again, starding a bloody stalemate that will last until the end of the war. -

The war developed into a stalemate which lasted until the armistance, the front line staying very close to the 38th parallel. -

Armistance to present
After the armistance was signed, both countries agreed to recognize the 38th parallel as the border between North and South Korea, they established a 2 mile wide de-militarization zone (DMZ) and have been at high tension ever since, After the war, North Koreans grew to hate America and North Korean propaganda continues to reference back to the war. The war was senseless and did not spread or reduce the influence of communism, but rather keep it right where it was and lead to much death and ruin.
