A US spy plane collides with two Chinese jets over the South China sea.This created tension between the two countries. Tension= stress. -
Chinese -USSR Border Clashes
A series of border clashes between Soviet Union and China eventually lead to rapprochement between the US and China. Rapprochement- an establishment or resumption of harmonious relations. -
Nixon's Historical Visit.
US President Richard Nixon Beijing, establishing diplomatic channels for both countries to counter the Soviet threat. This created a bond with the two countries. BOND= an agreement with legal force in particular. -
Embassy Bombed
During NATO air strikes against Serbia, the Chinese embassy in Belgrade was hit killing 3 Chinese citizens. Anti-American protest were held across China. -
