they wore a coned shaped helmet with a nose strip. long chain mail suit with sleeves. they held a large kite shaped shield and a paded woolen tunic -

The 2nd change in armor
the helmet was rounder with wider nose band. there was a loose fiting worn over chain mail to protect from the suns heat. the coat of arms to identify the region of the knight. heuberk covers neck and it is attched to the helmet with leather straps. it is now including chain mail fitings. shield is more triangular and smaller and the chain mail leggings now go down to the feet -

3rd change in the knight armor
liftable viser and with pieces of added for protection. the weight is so heavy now that the knight get up by himself if he falls over. shield is smaller and curved for added protection. the hauberk is even smaller and padded stockings with irons braces are now worn. -

The 4th change in the knight's armor
the whole armor weighs 25kg and is more flexible then the chain mail armor, lighter helmets barbutes were worn. plate armor covers whole body joined with metal rivets and straps
