The First Knight Armour
- Cone shaped helmet with protective nose strip
- Long chain mail suit with sleeves
- Large kite shaped shield -Padded wollen tunic

The Second Knight Armour
- Helmet is rounder with wider nose band -Loose fitting surcoat worn over chain mail to protect from the suns heat
- Coat of arms identifies the knight
- Chain mail now covers neck and is attached to helmet with leather straps
- Chain mail now includes mittens
- Shield is not as big and is now trianglular
- Chainmail leggings now cover feet

Jan 1, 1300
The Third Knight Armour
- Bascinet helmets worn by late 1300s. Visor can be lifted up
- Pieces of hammered iron plate are added for extra protection
- Shield is smaller and curved for added protection
- Iron gloves protect the hands
- Padded stockings with iron braces re worn
- Chain mail is even shorter

The Fourth Knight Armour
- Whole suit of armour wieghs about 25 kilograms, but is more flexible than chain armour
- Lighter helmets are worn
- Plate armour covers whole body
- No need any more for a shield
- Iron shoes
