Before Assef raped Hassan he made sure he knew that he was getting pleasure by his pain so he said, " I'm letting you keep the kite, hazara. I'll let you keep it so you will always remember what i'm about to do" (73). Hassan's rape was a turning point in his and Amir"s relationship which changed the feeling and actions of both of the characters.

Once Amir wins everybody comes up to him and says "Bravo! Bravo,Amir Agha"(66). Amir isn't appreciated much so when he is he will do anything to keep it that way which is shown.

Due to the Russian invaders that take over Afghanistan Baba and amir leave Afghanistan to move to America. They leave behind everything including most of there belongings and money. Amir misses his home and on his journey to America he's "Standing at the shoulder of the road, {he} thought of the way we'd left the house where i'd lived my entire life, as if we were going out for a bite to eat"(112). This is important because it shows how secret they had to keep there journey.

Amir graduates from high school. Baba takes him out to eat and gifts him a car. After the graduation ceremony" He walked to me, curled his arm around my neck, and gave my brow a single kiss. 'I am moftakhir,Amir,' he said. proud.His eyes gleamed when he said that and I liked being on the receiving end of that look."(131). Amir hasn't heard him rathe say he is proud of him many times in his life so when that happened he was glad and proud of himself.

When Amir asks how Ali died the response is " a land mine. is there a more afghan way to die"(207). Its interesting how he died because in a time of war that was not an uncommon thing.

Amir finally gets married to his long time crush Soraya. Amir can't recall much of his wedding day but he could recall " The wedding song, ahesta boro, blared from the speakers, the same song the russian soldier at the maniphar checkpoint had sung the night baba and i left kabul"(170). HIs wedding was such an important day but he is still haunted by his past.

When Amir finds rahim Khan " I want to tell you everything. You will listen?". Rahim knows everything about Amir so this is was a deep and meant a lot for amir to know that he wasn't alone.

After struggling with cancer for a long time, one night Baba refuses to take his medicine and passes. The night Baba died " we closed the door. Baba never woke up." (173). Baba died in peace which is something he didn't have a lot of during life.

Amirs first book gets published and he uses that money to put a deposit on a house in SF. When Amir tells Soraya that he got his first book published she said '' ' Kaka would have been prod too'"(183). Baba wasn't proud of Amir often so what Soroya said really made him feel proud.

Sohrab, the son of Hassan and his wife is born. He grows up literate unlike his father and before his parents are killed really likes his life. sohrabs birth isn't documented very well but it was an important moment which affected the course of the book.

The first thing sandbar is able to say is "where is Hassans"(209). Even though she has been gone for an insane amount of time she is still looking for her soon which is the most important thing to her.

Hassan and his wife are killed by the Taliban because they were staying in a big house alone and the Taliban didn't like that because they were Hazara. Luckily their son survives. When Amir finds out that Hassan died a " all I could manage to whisper 'no.no.no' over and over again."(219). Amir never thought that Hassan would be out of his life so he was super surprised and shocked when he found out.

After 9/11 bin laden was believed to be hiding in Afghanistan so they attack Afghanistan to try to make them give up bin ladens location.

After Amir brakes his promise to Sohrab he tries to kill himself. He is unsuccessful and even though he isn't to happy about it he continues to live. When Amir finds Hassan almost dead in the bathtub he is shocked. He ind it shocking that that little boy put so much faith in him.

Rahim Khan calls Amir and tells him he is ill and he must return to Afghanistan. Amir decides to go back and eventually goes back to his home town and sees how the Taliban has affected his home
