After the death of Mazarin, he take the control of the government system by himself. While he gave more power to the goverment system who collect taxes and administered justice, he weaken the power of the nobles. -
Louis XIV trying to expand France.
He tried to expand the French boundaries. First he tried to attack the Spanish Netherlands, and it was a success and was able to gain 12 towns. Then he try to invade Dutch Netherlands, but failed to the attack. At least France gained 12 new town to their boundary. -

Still he wanted to expand more of France. So he test out some of his luck, but he mainly run out of troop and wasn't able to gain any additional land. -

Louis slow the enomic of the France. He cancle the Edict of Nantes, because he didn't like the religion of the Huguenots. This result in many business men leaving the country. -

The King of England join the leader of many European countries and try to attack France. While France start to get poor in money. Still France was added to the war, so Louis XIV raise the taxed for the war. But most people couldn't affort it. France suffer greatly in the war. -

France got attack from the Spanish and as well as many other European countries. France wasn't able to hold up, so France lose some wealth and colony to the Spanish. -
The Death of King Louis XIV
Many wars have ruin the France, where lots of suffering happen. Through his illness, he died on his bed. After the people know that King Louis XIV died, they were happy about it.
