    George William Federick, later in the future to be known as King George III, will reign during a time of great unrest in the colonies which will break out into the Revolutionary War. He will be the thrid Hanoverian monarch, first one to be born in England, and the first to have English as his first language.

    Frederick, Prince of Wales Dies
    Frederick Louis, father of King George III, dies from Typhoid Fever when Geroge III is only 12 years old. This impacted George III in many ways. With his death, George III must now grow up without a fatherly love. Instead, George WIlliam relied on the Earl of Bute (John Stuart). In addition George is now going to succeed through his grandfather.

    When petitions are sent to the King as a result of the Stamp Act being passed, Rockingham forced the King to either completely enforce it or repeal it. Just like all the previous prime ministers, his regime did not last long as well. He was dismissed in 1766.

    In search of a wife, King Geoge III marries the German princess, Charlotte of Mecklenberg-Strelitz, whom he meets on his wedding day. They produce a fruitful love life and have 15 children. Of their children 2 of them, King George IV, and King William IV, will succeed George III.

    George and the Earl of Bute had a very close relation since the Earl of Bute was his mentor since his childhood. George chose his mentor as the first chief prime minister. This was a poor decision since the earl of Bute found it to be stresssful in the public eye. His poor health also made it more difficult for him to focus on his job.

    John Stuart, Earl of Bute, was replaced due to public's dislike for him, in place of him was George Grenville. Grenville is going to be the person who offers the idea of the "Stamp Act". Although Grenville's ideas on how to solve many of the country's issues were alike to George's, their personalities clashed. Two years later, Grenville will fall from power.

    The Royal Proclamation of 1763
    King George III and the Parliament presented this act to the colonists which stated that the colonists could not settle pass the "Proclamation Line". This proclamation was passed to reassure the Indians that the colonists would not drive them off their land. However the colonists felt a huge resentment towards this proclamation. This is said to be the beginning cause of the Revolutionary War.

    This act placed taxes on printed goods such newpapers, pamphlets, marriage licenses, and playing cards. The colonists are going to be angry with this act and take action. They created the Sons and Daughters of Liberty, the Stamp Act Congress, and start to boycott. Rockingham (King Geroge III's prime minister at the time) will pressure him to either completely repeal it or completely enforce it. In the end the act is repealed.

    After the Stamp Act was passed many of the colonists were angered! Three colonies, including Virginia, sent petitions protesting the Act. This was all rejected by the House of Commons, in return came the Virginia Resolves. Rockingham forced King George to either completely enforce it or repeal it. He decided to repeal it. He is going to regret this decision after war breaks out with the Americans.

    Right after Rockingham was dismissed, Pitt was appointed as prime minister. Pitt, comemtator of British taxation of Americans, was chosen as prime minister because King George III was hoping that he could unify the country and government. However Pitt lost popularity ,political influence, and suffered a nervous breakdown. When Pitt fell from power, this caused King George III to become more self-reliant and active in government affairs. Pitt also helped win the French and Indian War.

    After the repeal of the Stamp Act, Charles Townshend proposed the idea of the Townshend Act. This act placed taxes on goods imported into America. This type of taxation is known as "indirect tax" because the taxes would be paid at the ports. Once again, the colonists started to boycott and protest. Eventually, Parliament removed all the Townshend taxes except for tea.

    After William Pitt's fall from power came the Duke of Grafton who took his place as Prime Minister. Grafton proposed to completely repeal all American taxes, but King George III persuaded Grafton's cabinet to reject the proposal.

    The Secretary of State for the Colonies is an office that is going to be established to focus on American issues. If this office had to be created just to solve the colonists problems you can tell that this is a very serious issue in Britain.

    Unlike the previous minsters, North's tenure lasted much longer (this is also caused by the fact that he lived longer than the others). He and George were on good-terms. During his term, King George III resumed to his passive self in government and became more reliant on others.

    As a result of the repealment of the all the Townshend duties except for tea, the Boston Tea Party occured. The colonists dressed up as Indians and opened and dumped 342 chest of tea. Federick North supported to completely repeal Townshend Acts, but the Parliament firmly rejected the idea. The Boston Tea Party caused the Parliament to oppose comprimising with the Americans even more.

    These acts were set as a punishment and forced the colonists to repay the debt they added with the Boston Tea Party. King George III believed in taking a strong stand against the colonists. George was not going to sit around and be pushed on by his own colonists! Also, King George predicted that if Britain did not stand up fiercely against the colonists that it would make Britain look weak in the other competitors eyes.

The Olive Branch Petition was a document which stated that the colonists would still be loyal to the King, however he were to limit the power of his prime minister and Parliament. However the closest anyone has ever been to accmoplishing their mission is a man who had a gun and tried to shoot the king but failed. This occured in the royal box of the Drury Lane Theatre.

    King George III's favorite daughter, Princess Amelia, dies of tuberculosis at the age of 27. His mental state and health starts to deteriorate permanently.

    King George III's has a mental breakdown. This is not only caused by the fact that he has porphyria, but also his favorite daughter Amelia, died. His doctor commented on his health and said, "He appears to be living in another world and has lost almost all interest in the concerns of this." Two weeks later, after his death, George is buried in St. George's Chapel, Windsor Castle.
