Declaration of Rights & grievances is passed
The Declaration of Rights and Grievances was created and passed in October 19, 1765 by the Stamp Act Congress. The Acts were designed to punish the colony of Massachusetts for defying British policies. -
Boston Tea Party
The Boston Tea Party was a reaction to the Tea Act of 1773 that was passed by Parliament in order to save the British East India Company from becoming bankruptcy. The Tea Act had the power to eliminate all taxes on tea besides the three pence Townshend tax. And the Americans tea was sold in lower price than the colonial smugglers. -
First Continental Congress meets
The first Continental Congress meets in Carpenter's Hall Philadelphia, from September 5, to October 26, 1774. The Continental Congress met because the colonists were very upset about the Intolerable Acts and the taxes. King George III put The Intolerable Acts on the collonies as a punishment. He did this in order to put the people so the colonists would feel terrible abot dumping tea into Boston Harbor during the Boston Tea Party. -
Revolutionary War begins

2nd Continental Congress meets
The 2nd Continental Congress met on May 10, 1775 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. It started of with the battle of Lexington and Concord fresh in their memories. The second Continental Congress also established the militia to represent the thirteen states. And George Washington was elected as Commander in Chief during the time. -
Declaration of Independence is signed
Richard Lee proposed the Declaration of Independence to the Continental Congress on June 7, 1776. Roger Sherman, Benjamin Franklin, John Adams, Robert Livingston and Thomas Jefferson started to work on June 11. And the Congress passed the resolution on July 2, 1776. The Declaration of Independence had two parts, a preamble & a bill of particulars. -
Revolutionary War ends
The American Revolution was fought between 1775 and 1783. It was also known as the American War of Independence. The war was between the Kingdom of Great Britain and thirteen British colonies on the North America continent. President George Washington forced General Cornwallis to surrender & became victory. -
Constitutional Congress Opens
The Constitutional Congress opened during 1787 located at the State House in Philadelphia. Fifty five delegates from different states got together to frame a new United States Constitution. It took several months intill the British finally surrender at Yorktown in 1781. -
Final draft of the Constitution is signed
The members from the Constitutional Convention signed the United Statess Constitution on September 17, 1787 located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The purpose of it was to dissatisfaction with the Articles of Confederation and the need for a strong government.
