Thai's army attacks - 1219CE
The Cham kingdom and the Thais in the west launched a series of wars against the Khmer Empire.They both succeeded in pushing the boundaries of the Khmer Empre back. During this period Buddhism grew in popularity and Buddhism did not recongnise that any ruler had a "divine right" to rule. So the authority of the King was questioned. -

The Siam king attacked the Khmer Empire and the empire becomes kingdom to Siam. The Empire was able to defend itself until this date. -
Vietnamese attacks - 1834CE
The vietnamese attacks and shares increasing control over Khmer Empire with Siam. The Thias looted the temples and took many iteams, including Buddha images, gold, jewels and slaves back to the Thai capital. -
Jayavarman II is Enthroned
Jayavaraman II was enthroned under Hindu rites as devaraja. Devaraja was a "God King" who had a divine right to rule. Jayavaraman II also established the Khmer Monarchy. -
