French and English Enlightenment
The English enlightenment before both the french and the american revolution. So the English enlightenment was one of the reasons for the french enlightenment to happen then both the french and English enlightenment caused the american revolution to happen. So it was like a chain reaction. -

Thomas Jefferson was one of the founding fathers of the United States. During the revolution, the governor of Virginia was Thomas Jefferson and then after the war he became minister of France. -
Lexington and Concord
These battles started off the American Revolution. These battles happened because the British commander in Boston heard something about supplies and weapons were being kept by the patriots in the towns of Lexington and Concord. -
Second Continental Congress
This meeting was made up of the delegates and 12 out of the 13 colonies. This meeting showed who was going to join in on the side of the Americans in the Revolutionary War. This was also the body of the government from 1775-1781. It was founded because the British did not access the problem with the first continental congress. -
Bunker Hill
Bunker Hill was a battle that was fought in Charleston, Massachusetts. This was named this because it was fought near Bunker Hill in Charleston. In this battle the Americans lost but this gave them the boost of confidence they needed to proceed to the next battle. -
Olive Branch Petition
This was the last attempt by the colonists to not go to war with Britain. This document showed how loyal the colonists really were to royalty. -
Declaration of Independence
This was the document that all the 13 colonies used to get their independence from Britain. -
