Lexington and Concord
A small fight against the British, It's where the revolutionary war first started. Neither side expected to actually fight, however a gunshot was accidentally fired, forcing the British to attack. When the Americans got to Concord, they meet little resistance and began to search the town for the hidden stash of weapons and munitions. Soon the British commander realized that the American militia resistance was rapidly growing and it was time to retreat. -
Second Continental Congress
Second Continental Congress was a convention of 13 delegates, one from each colony, which was a meeting led by John Hancock. This congress acted as a government, sending ambassadors to foreign countries and printing its own money. The impact of this congress was that it lasted, whereas the first continental congress did not. -

Olive Branch Petition
Thomas Jefferson wrote the draft of the Olive Branch Petition, however, it was considered to be too inflammatory. Then John Dickinson wrote the final draft. The significance of the Olive Branch was to appease the king, George III, and prevent the conflict between the colonies and the British Government from escalating into a full blown war. The impact was that the king rejected the petition and the war occurred.
