  • Neutrality Acts

    Neutrality Acts
    The Neutrality acts were in 1935 and signed on August 31, 1935, disagreed on trading in arms and war materials with other countrys in a war. It also said that American citizens travelling on rival ships travelled at their own risk. The act was set to end after six months.

  • Cash and Carry policy

    Cash and Carry policy
    In september Of 1939, president Roosevelt made congress pass the "cash and carry" policy. The law allowed nations to buy U.S. arms as long as they paid cash and transported the weapons and supplies on their own ships.
  • France Falls to Germany

    France Falls to Germany
    In 1940 France fell to Germany. Britain was also under attack. President Roosevelt tried to provide the Britain with weapons and supplies.
  • Selective service and training act

    Selective service and training act
    Congress passed a peace time military draft called the Selective service and training act. Under the law 16 million men between ages 21 and 35 were registered to join the war.

  • Tripartite Pact

    Tripartite Pact
    On September 27, 1940 Germany, Italy, and Japan had signed a mutual defense agreement called the Tripatite Pact. The three countrys became the Axis Powers.
  • Lend-Lease Plan

    Lend-Lease Plan
    by the late 1940s Britain ran out of cash to spend on weapons. Roosevelt tried to help by introducing a new plan in 1941, the lend-lease policy. In this plan he would lend weapons to any country that needed it, as long as they had importance to Americas survival.

    German Invasion Of Soviet Union
    In June 1941 Hitler and his Natzi soldiers invaded the Soviet Union(Russia), breaking the agreement he made in 1939 with them not to go to war. Roosevelt than began sending lend-lease supplies to the Soviet Union.

  • Atlantic Charter

    Atlantic Charter
    Roosevelt and Churchhill met secretly and agreed on joint declaration of war arms, the Atlantic Charter. The two countys promised: cellective security, disarmament,self-determination, economic cooperation, and freedom of all Sea's.

  • Shoot On Sight Policy.

    Shoot On Sight Policy.
    After a German submarine fired on a U.S. ship, Destroyer Greer inSeptember 4, 1941 Roosevelt made a "shoot on sight" policy. The Shoot on Sight policy commanded the Navy to shoot German ships whenever they see them.

  • Bombing Of Pearl Harbor

    Bombing Of Pearl Harbor
    On December 7, 1941, early in the morning, a Japanese dive-bomber flew low over the biggest U.S. naval base in the Pacific - Pearl Harbor and bombed the base. the bomber was followed by over 180 Japanese warplanes lanched by six aircraft carriers. The Japanese bombs soon found their targets and about 2,402 Americans died and weapans and ships were destroyed.
