The Proclomation line was issued by King George III. It orded the colonists to stop settling in land west of the Appalchain Mtns, which had been set aside fo American Indians. -

A crowd shouted at a group of British soldiers and threw rocks at them as the crowd moved forward, the soldiers fired their guns, 5 people died. -
Boston Tea Party
150 members of the sons of libery dressed as American Indians and marched to the Boston Harbor and threw more than 300 chests of tea overboard. -
First Continental Congress
Leaders from all colonies exept Georgia met in Philadelphia. The meeting was later called the First Continental Congress. Delegates hoped for a peacful solution to their problems with Great Britan. The Congress sent a petition, or a signed request, to King George III. -

Both French and American soldiers marched south to surround Yorktown. At the same time, the French navy took control of the cheasapeak Bay.After weeks of being trapped Cornwallis finally gave up. -
The Treaty of Paris.
The British and the Americans signed the Treaty of Paris. In the treaty, Great Britain recognized the United States of America as a nation.
