For example Parliment placed taxes on tobacco, molasses sugar tea and even paper documnts to help the costs of fighting wars in North America.

    In 1764 the British Parliment passed on the Sugar Act. This act placed a tax on sugar and many other goods brought to the colonies. then in 1765 Parliment passed such as the Stamp Act, which taed printed items , such as newspaper and legal documnts.     On the night of March 5, 1770 and angry crowd gatherede near the Massachusets State House in Boston. The crowd shouted at a group of the British soldiers and threw rocks and snowbals at them. as the crowd moved forward, the soldiers fired their guns. five colonist died.Crispis attucks an African American sailor was the first person killed. The evnt soon became known as the boston Massacre enven though the shooting was not really a Massare.

There leader said dont fire or else fired upon, but if they m,ean war let it be it . no one knows who shot first??????????

    By December 1776 many americans soldiers were ready to give up. Then on Christmas night the Americans made a sneak attack on enemy soldiers near Trenton, New Jersey. In a short fight the Americans defeated the enemy. This victory gave Americans new hope for winning the war.Earlier that year Congress had sent Benjamin Franklin to france to try to convince them to give them suppiles . Then in october 1777 the con tiental army won the battle of Saragota in New York. This was a turning point.!!!

    Cornwallis was trapped. The french fleet blocked supplies from reaching the British troops, and the americans shelled the city for weeks. Cornwallis sent word to is commander " If you not releive me very soon", " he said" " You must be prepared to hear wrose . The worst happened. The 5,000 extra soldiers that were sent to help Cornwallis did not get to York Town After being surronded he surrendered at that was a big accomplishment
