  • Establish clear expectations and procedures

    Teacher clearly explains and gives examples of what the expectation is for the whole class. Also go over school wide expectations.

    Undesirable behavior appears

    A student shows inappropriate or disruptive behavior during the day. Teacher should document what the behavior is and when it occurs (ABC analysis)
  • Teacher implements behavior managment plan

  • Period: to

    Undesirable behavior continues

    Teacher implements the plan but the behavior continues and is not decreasing. Teacher should continue to document behavior.
  • Make changes to behavior managment plan

    Teacher should assess data collected so far and make changes to current behavior plan
  • Period: to

    Undesirable behavior continues

  • Problem solving session

    Teacher sits down with student, one on one, to discuss the behavior. This is the time to have student develop some self-monitoring strategies or system of rewards/consequences to increase positive behaviors. Try to come up with a solution to implement.
  • Period: to

  • Contact Parents

    Teacher takes this time to call and/or meet parents to discuss the behavior issues with student. Describe the behavior plans that have been implement. See if parents have suggests or ideas of what would help increase the positive behaviors.
  • Period: to

  • Referral

    Teacher fills out a referral either to office or assistant team (depending on school policy). Work together with a team to create a new plan. Teacher will then implement plan.

    Undesired behavior contiinues

  • Referral Again/Revise Plan

    Teacher meets with team with data to show student has not made progress. Try to revise the plan or another referral.
  • Period: to

    Undesired behavior continues

  • Office Referral

    Parents are contacted to meet with team to discuss behavior issues and possible intial evaluation
