The Beginning
At the age of 18, Charles became a student at Christ's College in Cambridge. Darwin's parents especially his father hoped that Darwin would be come a physician but the Charles despised the sight of blood. After he graduated from college in Cambridge he then went on a five year trip around the world on a ship called the HMS Beagle. While on the trip Darwin collected many varieties of natural specimens that include things from birds, plants to fossils and beatles. -
The Middle
Darwin found a particular interest in the Pacific Islands and Galapagos Archipelago as well as South America. While he was there he was able to closely examine and research the principles of botany, geology and zoology. Once he returned to England in 1836, Charles start riding about the things he had found in a book the Journal of Researches. Following the trip he began to develop a theory about the origin of living beings. This was revolutionary because it was contradicting other views -
Evolution
Natural Selection, a theory that was brought about by Darwin was explained as species only survive by successfully adapting to meet the requirements of their environment around them; while the species that failed to do so became extinct. Darwin was able to explain this through his various observations of birds, plants as well as the fossils of various species. Many naturalist at the time felt that species either existed since the start of the world or was created over time. -
The End
Before his death, Darwin wrote an autobiography between the years of 1876 and 1881. He wrote the autobiography for his grandchildren rather than for publication. Before Charles was laid to rest he published his book entitled " The Formation of Vegetable Mould, Through the Actions of Worms". After that Sir Darwin was suffering from extreme chest also known as angina. He later suffered from a seizure in March 1882 and then died of a heart attack on April 19.
