Kenedy decided to put a baracade around the island of Cuba, but, when he announced it on air, he called it a "quarintine", as to not start a war with one wrong move. The reason he put this baracade around Cuba was because the Soviet Union had put their missiles there, and America wanted to keep a close eye to see if the Soviet Union would plan any attacks with them. -
Kenedy's Speech and how the Soviet Union reacted
The Soviets reacted to this as sort of a threat. They gave a responce and a warning-a warning that said that this could turn into nuclear war , which scared alot of Americans and put them in a panic
