The Freedom Riders were civil rights activists who would take the public transportation and then test newly anti-segregation laws. But the KKK tried to bomb the buses and cut the tires. They were trying to win against the activists. -

JFK was in support of the equality of blacks to whites. This was a higly discriminating time. JFK was the first to call on Americans to participate in civil rights. -
JFK Assassinated in Dallas, Texas
JFK was shot while riding through Dallas Texas with his wife in an open car. Lee Harvey Oswald was charged with murder. Vice President Lyndon B. Johnson took over as President.
