  • Roanoke Island the Perfect Settlement

    Queen Elizabeth let Raleigh send over 100 men from England to Roanoke Island (off the coast of North Carolina) after two years the explorers found it to be the perfect place for a settlement.
  • The Men in the Fort

    After John White and his family started a permanent settlement off of Chesapeake Bay, they arrived to see that the men in the fort had been killed by some people.
  • Disappearing People

    When White returned to Roanoke Island, He had discovered that everyone was missing, he also found the word "CROATOAN" carved in a tree nearby.
  • 100 Men

    Twenty years later a group of 100 men landed on the banks of Virginia's James River. They were immediately attacked by people, but they were determined to stay.
  • Stay Away

    Captain Smith had returned to England when he became ill, and Pocahontas stopped visiting the settlement. Shortly after the relation between the settlers and the Powhatan nation weakened. Four years later, John Smith died.
  • Being Colinized

    Pocahontas was moved to a different settlement, where she met her husband John Rolfe, after she married him, she again encouraged peace between the English and Native Americans. In addition to Virginia, Maryland, Georgia, , North Carolina, and South Carolina were becoming colonized.
  • House Of Burgesses

    This was a big year for Jamestown. The first assembly was then established, it was called the House Of Burgesses. Then African workers, called the indentured servants, arrived by boat to work a plot of land to eventually own it.

    On the Mayflower, there were 100 people, and only one death occurred, and one baby was born, it was Oceanus.
  • The First Thanksgiving

    With the abundance of food and no longer starving, Oceanus and her people celebrated their first Thanksgiving!
