Julius Caesar was born in Subura, Rome in July of 100 BC. Julius's full name was Gaius Julius Caesar. His father was Gaius Julius Caesar and his mother was Aurelia Cotta. Julius lived in the Ryal house; Julio- Claudian. -
Death 44 BC
A secret plan was formed to remove Caesar and restore the goverment to the Senate. On March 15 44BC caesar was killed. Julius was stabbed to death in the Senate house of Pompey by old friends and allies. -
Roman Province of Africa
The Roman province of Africa was established after the Romans defeated carthage in the Punic Wars. Rome formed its first African colony in the fertile part. The rest was left to the descendants of Masinissa. -

Pompey was one of the main Roman leaders during the end of the Roman republic. Pompey and Caesar were enemies after Caesar did not follow orders from Rome. Pompey ran away to Egypt where he was killed and his head was cut off so it could be sent to Caesar. -
Caesar return
In 50 BC Caesar returned to Rome. The Senate put Julius on trial for the acts he did while as a consul. They gave Caesar two choices he could obey the senate and be destroyed pollitically or he could start a civial war. Julius chose war. -

After Casear made his conquest to Gaul he invaded Britian. He believed that britons had supported the campaings of Gaul against Julius. Caesar invaded Britain twice. In 54BC also. -

In 55 BC Caesar was awarded the governship of Gaul. Gaul is a Roman province occupied by several tribes. Roman control in Gaul was limited. Rome had political relations with tribes outside of the province -

in 58 BC Julius saw that he needed allies to overcome his opponets in the Senate. The alliance soon became The First Triumvirate. Julius became allies with the Roman general Pompey. This brought Julius weath and military power. This alliance sealed in 58 BC. -
Caesar elected for consul
In 59 BC Julius won an election to become consul. A consul is an offical ruling over foreign lands. The Senate tried to block Julius's hopes of getting more political power so the Senate assigned Julius to the lands that offered him no possibilities for military glory. -
Florence
In 62BC Florence was found. Evidence shows that Florence was already occupied in prehistoric times. The city has shown imprints of these Roman origins. It became one of Caesar's colonies. -

In 63BC Caesar was elected Pontifex Maximus which is the chief priest of the religion of Rome. In 62BC Caesar was elected praetor for the year. In that same year Caesar divorced his wife, Pompela. -

Sertorius tried to keep his distance away from Rome. He sent an army to get rid of the governer of Hispania. He also palnned to meet with the Spanish natives. -
