    Smart kitchen appliances, as there are many, have each been invented by multiple different people. For example the first ever smart kitchen appliance was the electric toaster and was invented by Alan Macmasters. Overall, majority of smart kitchen appliances have been most popular through the 2000s to present time.

  • 3D Food Printing

    3D food printing is the creation of food items using additive manufacturing techniques. It provides the control necessary to put a custom amount of protein, sugar, vitamins, and more. It was invented in 2005 by Professor Hod Lipson.

  • Air Fryers

    A machine that was invented by Fred van der Weij in 2006 was designed to cook something to as much as a crisp without using a lot of oil. It is now used globally by many.

  • Food Waste Reduction Technologies

    They are innovations that are aimed to minimize food waste through improving food packaging and preservation. There is no specific information to when it was created or who created it but preservation got more important as time has passed which has led to it being very important today.

  • Lab-Grown Meat

    Lab grown meat is when you completely grow meat in a lab entirely outside of an animal's body. It wasn't invented by someone specific but it was developed by a team that was led by Mark Post in 2013.

  • Vertical Farming

    It is the practice of growing crops in vertically and horizontally stacked layers. It was invented by Geologist Gilbert Ellis Bailey in 1915 but was never launched till 2014. It was known as a kind of rooftop farming.

  • DNA-Based Diets

    It uses genetic information to determine dietary recommendations to make food choices healthier and to improve metabolic health. There is no clear information to who or when it was discovered.

  • AI in Food Development

    The use of artificial intelligence to create new recipes and to optimize food production. Since this isn't developed by one specific person, and example of an AI food development is the brand Nestle and it first started using AI in 2021.
