  • Start Prep for USMLE Step 1

    Prep Time: 3 months

    Pattern 350 multiple choice, divided in 7 60min block

  • Knock Step 1

  • Start Prep for Step 2 CK

    Pattern: 370 multiple choice, divided into 8 60min blocks, administered into 1 9hour testing session
    Prep Time: 4 months
    Fee: $675

  • Results of Step 1!!!

    Note: It takes about 4 weeks to recieve the scores!!!

  • Knock Step 2 CK (Clinical Knowledge)

  • Start Step 2 CS (Clinical Skills)

    Has 10-12 patient cases with 15 min for your patient encounter and 10 min to record the post encounter note. (Can be taken only in US).
    Prep Time: 1 months
    Application Fee: $1200

  • Results of Step 2 CK

    Get results of Step 2 CK
    Note: It takes 4 weeks to get results of Step 2 CK

  • Knock Step 2 CS

  • Recieve results of Step 2 CS (YAYYYY YOU ARE NOW ECFMG Certified)

    Result of Step 2 CS takes 3 months
    Apply for ECFMG Certification
    Prepare for ANDES TRIP

  • TRIP TO ANDES!!

  • Register for STEP 3 and Start Looking for observership positions in nearby hospitals

    Step 3 has approx 480 multiple choice, divided into 35-50 items with 45-60min to complete each block. There are 9 computer based simulations and each has 25 min for completion. Step 3 is administered over 2-8hr testing sessions.
    Pre requisites: Step 2 CK and CS Step 3 results are not very crucial except to obtain H1 Visa (not J1)
    Fee: $610
    Not required for ECFMG certification, but really helpful when applying for residency and to get your choice of residency (I know yours is Peadiatrics!!!)

  • Complete ERAS Application

    The supporting documents that you have to send in the mail to ECFMG include
    1. your photograph
    2. your examination transcript and
    3. your letters of reference
    4. your dean's letter /medical student performance evaluation

  • Matching Begins!!!!

    Resident matching begins based on the rankings and Interviews will be sought.
