    Lewis and Clark Expedition Starts.On May 22nd 1804 the Lewis and Clark exploration leaves to go explore North America. With them they bring boats, food, clothing and many other necessities for their expedition.

  • The Lewis And Clark Expedition Reaches La Charrette.

    La Charrette textOn May 26th 1804 the Lewis and Clark expedition reaches a small french town name La Charrette. In this town they trade goods for food and animals.
  • In Forest Land.

    In Forest Land.
    By June 2 1804 the Lewis and Clark were deep into the forest land. They reach the Osage River. Captain Lewis starts to map using the cro-no-meter. Augustus Pelletier helps the working men on the trail cut down trees and help make a fire to cook on.
  • Indian Country!!

    Indian Country!!
    On June 6th 1804 the Lewis & Clark expedition started to enter Indian country. Lewis & Clark studied Indian marks on trees.They also found limestone paintings on rocks. Augustus Pelletier studied and made copies of the marks.
  • Prairie Of Arrows.

    On June 9th 1804 the Lewis and Clark expedition reached a small country/river area named the Prairie Of Arrows.They call it the Prairie Of Arrows because it gets very narrow and is also very hard to navigate.The group met trappers and bought voyagers grease.

    On June 27th 1804 the Lewis and Clark expedition reach the juncture of Kansas and Missouri rivers. Lewis and Clark pick up hunters and travelers. They also continue to map out the land and take measurements like weighing water.

    Mapping Out The Land.
    On June 30th 1804 the Lewis and Clark expedition map out the land using a tool called the cro-no-meter. Captain Lewis asks Augustus to help him take measurements and record them in a notebook every time he yells out "Mark".

    On July 5 1804 Captain Lewis recieved a letter from President Jefferson asking how the expedition is going, Captain Lewis let Augustus read the letter and copy down a part of it.
  • Indian Sightings.

    On July 8th 1804 the Lewis and Clark expedition see the first of Indian life. They see multiple Indian fires on the east bank of the plains.
  • The Platte.

    On July 22 the Lewis and Clark expedition enter the mouth of the platte. Lewis and Clark do many measurements on the velocity of the very sandy river.

    On July 28th 1804 the Lewis and Clark expedition entered the Sioux Indian Country and met their first Indian.The Indian man said he lived with the Otoes tribe.He also said he was a Missouri Indian.
  • Sacajawea

    On November 4th 1804 near Sioux Indian County Lewis and Clark picked up an Indian man form the Indian tribe Charbonneau.The Charbonneau man brought his wifes. One of them was Sacajawea.

    On Febuary 10th 1804 Sacajawea started to go into labor with her 1st child. On Febuary 12th the baby was born after a long and painful two days.
  • Leaving Sioux Country.

    On April 8th 1805 at 4:00 in the aftenoon the Lewis and Clark expedition set off from Sioux Indian Counrty. They bring with them 6 new canoes and two old pirogues.
  • Rocky Mountains.

    Rocky Mountains.
    On July 15th 1805 the Lewis and Clark expedition reached the now famous Rocky Mountains in Virginia. They prepare their supplies to climb them.
  • End Of Expedition.

    On November 14 1805 the Lewis and Clark expedition split up into groups to go explore or find living in different parts of the North West at the Pacific Ocean. This is the end of the expedition.
